Look up onThe original, the most well-built version (USA-made), with Jason Lamb’s airbrushed ’blood-splatter’ creating a unique pattern on each one and upsetting parents enough that they had to change it for the mass-produced FX-86B model. This pedal does have a claim to fame, other than the being the only pedal with ”RIP/Gits/Pain/Scream” controls (Vol/Bas/Mid/Treb). Believe it or not, you’ve probably heard it before: it was responsible for a large part of Korn’s studio and live sound during the first album era, being one of the only pedals Head ran into his amp, while Munky opted for a Big Muff. This pedal introduced the world to down-tuned 7-strings. You can also use it for stoner-doom riffs or even as a HM-2 in a pinch.Missing the rear label, so I’ve included photos of some other listings for context. Otherwise physically in good condition and working fine. Yes, the squeal is a feature, not a bug. Most of the gear demos are of the subsequent B version. There’s a shootout of the three versions where they play classic rock riffs on a Strat. Fluff does a pretty good demo with metal riffs. But for the best version I’d point you towards this one clip from Reddit, directly into the same Hughes & Kettner amps Korn used on their debut album, absolutely nailing the sound. Will post well-packed and insured!
