Selling a vintage BOSS SD-1 Super OverDrive from 1981, the very first year of production, confirmed via serial number.Serial number 102100 dates this pedal to September 1981—the very first year of production. A highly collectible and rare find.The pedal is fully functional and works perfectly on every control, as clearly shown in the demo video I made with the exact unit for sale.Cosmetically, the enclosure shows signs of use consistent with its age, clearly visible in the flash photos. One knob is missing. The level knob is slightly loose but perfectly responsive. The original black knurled washer is not present and has been replaced by a single screw.Inside the battery compartment, the battery clip wires have been cut, although the original clip is still present. I have always used the pedal with an external power supply without any issues.The mainboard is clean and shows no signs of oxidation.Sound-wise, this SD-1 is absolutely fantastic: rich, detailed in the transients, extremely musical and responsive. A truly inspiring vintage overdrive with the character that made these early Japanese BOSS pedals legendary.Please check all photos carefully for cosmetic condition.
