Feel free to ask any questions!Product Details________________________________This is a 1986 blackface "RAT I" equipped with a Motorola LM308N op-amp!The original was the larger "The Rat" released in 1978, but this is the most familiar vintage RAT, commonly known as the "RAT I," or "Rat without the LED." As you increase the DISTORTION control, the low end increases, making it heavier, and the distortion becomes saturated, resulting in a compressed attack. This robust, edgy, and rough distortion is the most distinctive feature of the "RAT." The op-amp installed in this unit is the Motorola LM308N, which has a stronger low end and a fuzzy, rougher sound. It produces a thick sound with strong compression, and if you reduce the distortion, you can also create an edgy crunch. The hard distortion, combined with metallic harmonics, has a particularly thick, thumping bass that feels very satisfying.
