Sound: The TC Electronic Crescendo Auto Swell is an all-analog pedal designed to mimic the smooth, violin like, volume swells typically achieved with a manual volume pedal of a guitar's volume knob. It functions like a noise gate in reverse, muting the initial attack of a note and then gradually increasing the volume. 

Cosmetic: No real marks on the pedal other than some slight aging to the metal hardware.
