The separate Bass and Treble controls also make it much easier to shape than many fuzz pedals from the same era, which is a big part of why the original FZ-2 is still so well loved.

For players looking for the real mid-’90s Taiwan-made version, the FZ-2 has that unmistakable character: thick, raw, and a little wild, but still surprisingly tweakable once you spend a minute with the EQ.
