Looking at the controls, you'll find VOLUME, DRIVE, TONE, and GAIN arranged in that order. The VOLUME control functions as the master control for the output level. One improvement in the V4 is that wefve added twice the headroom to this control compared to the V3. The DRIVE control provides overdrive proportional to how far it is turned clockwise. Increasing this control slightly boosts the treble. The TONE control is a basic high-pass filter; turning it clockwise makes the tone brighter. Conversely, turning it counterclockwise makes the tone darker. The GAIN toggle switch functions as a new boost mode. This mode is generally more powerful with an emphasized low end, and when the DRIVE knob is set high, it produces a higher-gain tone than any other Morning Glory variation. The status of this toggle switch is indicated by a red LED, and it can be controlled remotely via the 1/4 jack labeled gRemote Gainh located on the right side of the pedal. This feature allows for instant switching of the GAIN toggle switch even during a live performance. Even when there is no space on your effects board, you can set your standard tone and instantly switch to a second tone using the Red remote. The Bright (HI) Cut toggle switch is also located on the side of the pedal, making it easily accessible without getting in the way. This switch is useful when using gear that tends to have a slightly bright tone or when producing a drive sound with higher gain. The input jack is located on the lower right side, and the output jack is on the left side. The MG operates exclusively on a standard 9V DC power supply.
