This pedal is no longer made — once they’re gone, they’re gone.What it is:The Benson Germanium Fuzz is built around a pair of meticulously matched 2N527 germanium transistors with Automatic Thermal Bias Technology — a warming circuit that keeps the transistors at optimum operating temperature regardless of environment. When the LED is orange it’s warming up; green means it’s ready. A built-in Class A buffer and pickup simulator circuit cure the notorious interaction between germanium fuzzes and buffered pedals in the chain. The Impedance control simulates rolling back your guitar volume — clockwise for tight sparkly drive, counter-clockwise for more hair and gain. The circuit covers rich clean boost, overdrive, all the way to aggressive fuzz with octave overtones. This is a “pretty” fuzz — 60s/70s classic rock and psychedelic — not spitty or harsh.
