Look up onCollector’s Special! This was Boss’s first dedicated limiter in compact pedal form, coming in between the pedals of the Compression Sustainer (CS) line. It was made only in Japan, between 1987-1992; this pedal dates to 1990. The LM-2 is known for being more transparent and quieter than the CS 1-3 pedals, with an analog, dbx-type voice that is preferred by many. It is used to tame loud, fast transients and is intended for guitar but also works well for bass. Controls include Level, Threshold and Release (time), as well as a Tone control to add back any lost high-end. This pedal is in true-mint condition. I could not find a single mark of any kind on it. Like all Boss pedals of this era, it runs best either on an internal 9V battery, or on the older Boss ACA-type power supply (unregulated 12V, not included). It sounds great and comes with its original box and Japanese-language manual and paperwork. I’ll also include a printed copy of the English language manual.
