Look up onWell used first year edition of Electro Harmonix's foray into the filter field. A more basic circuit, but it does a good job of creating that round sounding filter effect. Famously can get a more quacky (nick named Dr. Quack) response, but it can get a nice rounded sound as well, especially when playing quick notes in succession. The big control is the Range control. On these there is an internal trimmer that sets the optimal sensitivity for your guitar/pickups/setup. As this can change with different equipment, and does need occasional tweaking, I moved the trimmer control to an external controlled pot. Very useful. There is another trimmer I added inside that helps maximize the range setting. It does not need to be so precise, so where I have it is working great. Easy to use, easy to adjust and a great sound. One missing round bottom foot has been replaced with a square one. But we're all adults here, so I think we can handle that.
