This is the Land HP-2 in Lilac Sparkle. It's a percolating fuzz that unfolds even order harmonics and beautiful sustaining singing characteristics of your guitar. Perc style fuzzes are stylistic and bold choice that differ from your typical benders, faces and muff types. There are beautiful lower-gain and cleaner sounds hiding in this pedal, especially with volume clean-up from the guitar. In addition to that, the ergonomics of the 'switch' on the top of the pedal is something I don't hear anyone talk about but I find super practical in live settings. Here's what I do: I keep it in the quieter button/mode engaged with both knobs fairly high (loud enough and saturated enough to mix with your band or whatever you are trying to do). And when I'm ready for either a Solo boost -OR- if I want a clean sound but a loud clean sound, I roll down guitar volume a bit as I (gently) step on the top switch to go into the louder mode. So you can get your quintessential fuzzy stuff going on with the quieter mode, and then pretty seamlessly go to big loud fuzz or big cleans by controlling your guitar volume / using that white button on the pedal. I don't know if this is what Land intended but there is enough space for it and I love that about this pedal. I never ended up using the Lilac except to ensure it works and some velcro assuming I would put it to use one day - but I have the IBM Beige version I am keeping and using regularly. My dog ate the cardboard box so it's just the pedal, but I will secure it / pack it very well and make sure it arrives clean n ready to rock. Thanks!
