This is an MXR Dyna comp with the common 'ross mod' by JHS. I bought two of these and shared them with my friend paul who is a david gilmour fanatic - he said they sounded identical and I have a different comp that I use (fairfield accountant) so I wanted to get this one back into the wild. I find there's pretty much one sweet spot for this pedal but obviously it can go super squashy for a more 'compression effect' use - otherwise it's just a nice overall enhancer when you dial it in just right. This should make harmonics and 'thinner notes' become a bit more fat and mid-present, while rounding off some of the ultra highs and ultra lows, to focus the guitar's voice, including some more effortless sustain. Earlier in the chain this conditions your playing dynamics and makes a more 'reliable' signal for some of your upstream pedals - but it can function pretty nicely later in the chain, especially for making fuzz tones 'mix' a little better. I think it thrives earlier in the chain - but find your happy place!Marked 'good condition' because of the scratches and dings throughout the pedal but it runs clean and quiet and fully functional, just cosmetic wear.
