The first channel can go from a transparent almost "boost" kind of thing up to a roaring power chord machine. Kick in the boost channel for killer sustain for solos. This also has a "vintage" and "comp cut" switch so you can dial in how much compression you like in your tone. You can also change the voicing with a "Standard/Mosfet" switch which makes the pedal even more versatile. Great pedal!
