Look up onI am selling a first version Electro-Harmonix Doctor Q in very good condition for its age and fully functional. The Doctor Q is a compact analog envelope filter produced by Electro-Harmonix in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It is one of the earliest accessible auto-filter pedals, inspired by the famous Mu-Tron III, and has become sought after for its very organic and vintage character. The principle is simple: the pedal analyzes your picking attack and automatically opens the filter according to your dynamics. The harder you play, the more the effect opens up, allowing for very expressive sounds similar to an automatic wah. It’s an effect widely used in funk, rock, reggae, and also on certain bass lines. The pedal features two main controls:• Range: sets the frequency range in which the filter moves• Sensitivity: adjusts how responsive the filter is to your playing dynamicsThanks to these controls, you can achieve anything from a subtle effect that adds movement to your tone to a very pronounced filter for funky rhythms or highly percussive bass lines. In the same family of effects, you can find pedals such as the MXR Envelope Filter, the Boss AW-2 or AW-3, the Electro-Harmonix Q-Tron, as well as more modern pedals from Source Audio, but the Doctor Q is appreciated for its simple, musical, and very vintage character.Compact and rugged enclosure typical of vintage Electro-Harmonix pedals, easy to integrate into a pedalboard alongside Boss, MXR, DOD, Mu-Tron, or Electro-Harmonix pedals.Very good cosmetic condition for its age and perfect working order.
