Great, Boss CS3 Compression Sustainer I bought here last year. I've used it on my board but am making space for an extra overdrive. Good condition unit with some paint chips, box is a bit tatty. The chap who modded it had this to say in his original listing: First Generation Boss CS-3 using the Ultra low noise DBX VCA which was superseded by the THAT VCA due to this DBX VCA becoming too expensive. I have carried out the Supreme HI-FI mod on this pedal, replacing all caps in the signal path with Bi Polar audiophile caps (Panasonic and Nichicon) 1N34a Diodes ,plus other modifications to push it into new and much more desirable tonal territories. The mod adds clarity to chords and presence to single note lines. With snappy pick attack and twangy, in-your-face sustain fuelled licks and adding richness and depth, increased headroom, better bass response and full bodied signal. The result is compression that sounds natural, clean and warm. The Pedal can now be powered from 9 to 18v DC to give it more headroom. This Boss Pedal is one of the most important effect pedals to have on your FX pedal board. It enhances harmonics by gentle compression squeezing sounds is at your command. Enhanced sustain, tight control of dynamics and fatter sounds. This pedal gives you smooth sustain without degrading the quality of the original sound. Designed for outstanding low-noise performance. It responds well to picking and enhances certain pedals in your rig. Four on-board controls: Level, Tone to EQ to dial tone you which to have the effect, Attack to adjust the intensity of your picking and Sustain to control the sustain of your guitar. This Pedal was designed around the DBX VCA chip making it different to the latter THAT VCA models.
