About the Unicorn Account

Description

After a lifetime of playing, I’m starting to “thin the herd” and let go some of the gear I’ve carefully acquired over the years. This sale features a really fine unit: the ZOOM G5 multi-FX. It was their top-end unit at the time and has a wealth of really amazing features and capabilities. This is not the cheezy “updated” version of this pedal (the “G5n”, which had many flaws and eliminated many key features/functions); this is the ORIGINAL!For this listing, I’ll spare you the pages of description (it’s features are well documented in the many reviews from it’s release). But I will say: AMAZING capabilities - rivals modern multi-FX units (less the touch-screen!). It’s got great amp/cab models and some truly epic fx built in, that I’ve made great use of over the years (especially in the studio!).Just as an example: this unit has an expression pedal that’s probably unique to it: it’s THREE-DIMENSIONAL…meaning that rather than a single range of assignable control (heel-to-toe) - it ALSO allows the assigning of any of dozens of control functions to lateral motion - separately, to both left and right. It can turn fx on/off, change parameters, almost  anything you can think of. It’s beyond cool and SO useful.Included will be the original/factory power supply, a burned CD with the original user’s manual, as well as ZOOM’s “Edit & Share” software - a really-really-really superb PC-editing interface for modifying, sorting, storing, backing up/restoring, etc etc (as well as IT’s manual).Full disclosure: there was a drunken-bar-patron incident years ago whereby a barstool was knocked over and hit the stage. There was no damage to the unit other than absolutely SHATTERING one of the molded plastic end-caps. I carefully cut out a piece of non-porous foam to seal up that end of the unit (keeping any dust, liquid, foreign matter out) and haven’t had any problems with that (it was 3 years ago!). It isn’t pretty, but it’s doing a fine job protecting it. Photos of that included.Other than that - it’s in fantastic shape - all buttons/dials/connections work fine, tube is good, even has the protective plastic on the screens still there (I just never took them off - they’re very protective and you can see through them fine!).Feel free to ask any questions you like, or request more/specific photos. The unit will ship well-packed/protected and insured at full value via UPS Ground. I’ve set the shipping cost at the bottom end of the range it’ll actually cost; I’ll absorb the excess cost if it has to ship a long distance (and cost more).
