The original Digitech Whammy WH-1 is the pedal that defined pitch-shifting in the 1990s. Its two-octave up and down Whammy mode, detune section, and harmony intervals made it an instant favourite with experimental players chasing extreme, expressive shifts.
Famously used by Tom Morello, Jack White, and Joe Satriani. Its responsive pitch movement is like a dive-bomb a vibrato arm, but with far greater range and none of the tuning headaches.
Alongside its signature Whammy effect, it also works as a harmoniser, adding intervals from seconds through fifths, octave up, and even two octaves down alongside the dry signal. A holy-grail pedal.
