1978 Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Big Muff Pi - 'Blend' type, with a 110/120v power cable for use in North America, or anywhere else that uses 110/120v power. If you're not familiar with these, they came from EHX's "Deluxe" line from the late 70s, wherein they took their normal pedals (sometimes two pedals), put them in a big stainless enclosure and slapped in a power transformer. The Octave Multiplexer, Memory Man, Electric Mistress and Big Muff got this treatment - among others. The Deluxe Big Muff is essentially an op-amp Big Muff and a Soul Preacher compressor in the same box, all the parts being mounted to an EH-3054 board. These are extra-useful for bass, as on certain settings, the compressor acts as a dry blend, letting you bring back the sound of your instrument over the bassy, fuzzy distortion tones. EHX only made these from 1978-1981.The pot codes date it to 1978... they're PCB-mounted so the one closeup picture is probably the best view of the code you're going to get. Dual RC4558 op amps. The case shows some corrosion, but all the decals are still present and accounted for, with minimal defacing. Knobs are original Daka-ware. I have replaced the power indicator LED in my ownership, as someone had previously crushed it, probably underfoot. The power cord has been replaced with a proper grounded three-pronged unit - a safety upgrade.Plugged in, it works as it should, and sounds pretty much like every other op-amp Muff out there. The compressor works nicely but I find myself mostly disabling it to run only the high gain distortion associated with op-amp Muffs. Circuit-wise these are more similar to the V4, so think Siamese Dream type tones.
