Everyone is chasing tone, and the GE-7 is quite possibly the best pedal out there for dialing in your sound. As good as they are, the stock ones have been known to be quite noisy, so I picked up a Modest Mike mod, and it really helped shape my sound for the better. I really hate to part with it, but I just made some major changes to my rig and am selling off all of my gear (check my other ads). Some components are of a different value to improve overall tone response and to help eliminate noise.We use high-quality/low-noise NE5532 op amps (chips) as replacements for the three stock op amps (the older GE-7s actually have four). The result is a warmer, fuller pedal with more clarity and less noise.And of course we put in a nice bright blue LED…the “water clear” LED is clear when the pedal is off, and a nice bright blue when on.
