The Strymon OB.1 is an all-analog optical compressor and clean boost pedal. It uses a classic optical compression circuit for smooth, gain-compensated compression up to over 20dB. The compressor section has Comp and Output knobs, while the boost offers up to 10dB with three EQ shapes: flat, mid, or treble, selected via the Boost switch.
Boost engages independently when Bypass is on, with soft clipping for clean headroom. Internal DIP switch lets you tweak the treble shelf (1.5kHz or 2kHz) and mid peak (800Hz or 1.1kHz) frequencies. It's dead quiet with low-noise circuitry and true bypass via relays.
Works great up front to even out your signal, push an amp, or add sparkle. Runs on 9V battery or supply, sips under 20mA.
