The MXR Super Badass Distortion is an all‑analog guitar distortion pedal designed to cover a broad spectrum of gain levels, from mild overdrive to saturated high‑gain distortion. Its layout includes an Output knob for overall volume, a Distortion knob to set the amount of gain, and a three‑band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble) that lets you shape the low, mid, and high‑frequency content of your signal.
The EQ section gives significant tonal flexibility: the Bass control affects low frequencies (around 150 Hz), the Mid knob targets midrange (≈ 500 Hz), and the Treble adjusts high frequencies (up toward ≈ 10 kHz). Each knob offers a range of cut or boost, enabling tonal shaping from scooped, heavy distortion tones to brighter, more aggressive crunch.
The pedal uses true‑bypass switching, ensuring your original signal stays untouched when the effect is off. It runs on a standard 9 V DC power supply and provides a wide distortion gain range, making it suitable for genres spanning from bluesy overdrive and classic rock crunch to modern hard rock and metal styles.
