Description

This is a clone of the Ram's Head Big Muff Pi, based on the Build Your Own Clone (BYOC) "Large Beaver" kit. I think I built this in 2019 or 2020.I'm pretty sure this is the very first pedal I ever built. It was my "gateway drug" into pedal building. Build Your Own Clone has since closed the doors of their business, but for many years, they offered a lot of great kits that were enjoyed by countless pedal builders and DIY enthusiasts.I've held on to this pedal far too long, as it had some sentimental value being my first build. But I rarely have the need for a Big Muff circuit, and I need to declutter (to make room for more builds!), and this pedal deserves to be in the hands of someone who will play it.There's not a lot to be said about the Big Muff Pi that hasn't already been said. There are of course many variants of the circuit with tweaked component values. This was marketed as one of the more popular "Ram's Head" variants. This uses a simple 3PDT switch for true-bypass operation. It also has a snap to allow for being powered by a battery.Note: there is velcro on the back.Although this was one of my earliest builds, I had been doing DIY hobby electronics for years prior. I've since built over 100 pedals and two tube guitar amps.  I regularly practice and gig with my DIY pedals and amp, so I am confident in my building and soldering skill. I've sold over 60 of my DIY pedals on Reverb, all with positive, 5-star feedback.
