The JHS Hard Drive is a high-gain distortion pedal built from scratch for '90s and 2000s post-grunge tones. It uses cascaded gain stages and a hard limiting circuit, then a class AB amp section feeding a sweepable midrange EQ plus Baxandall bass and treble controls. You get everything from tube-amp crunch to wall-of-sound saturation that cuts through a mix.Controls are Drive for gain amount, Volume, Bass/Middle/Treble (all flat at noon, with Middle freq set by Mid Freq knob), and Mid Freq to pick the mids range for boost or scoop. It has silent soft-touch switching and buffered bypass. This was the final design from JHS engineer Cliff Smith.Power it with standard 9V DC center negative; draws 78mA. Measures 2.6 in x 4.8 in x 1.6 in.SpecificationsDimensions: 2.6 in x 4.8 in x 1.6 inPower: 9V DC center negative, 78mABypass: bufferedControls: Drive, Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble, Mid FreqSwitching: silent soft-touchCondition This item has been tested and is in good working condition.
