The EarthQuaker Devices Special Cranker is an all-analog overdrive that adds grit and boost while keeping your core tone intact. It uses discrete circuits for tube-like saturation—single notes get rich harmonics and sustain, power chords thicken up with edge, and chords stay clear without low-end mud. A single More knob controls the gain from subtle warmth to heavy distortion.Key feature is the Germanium/Silicon switch: Germanium side delivers warmer, vintage overdrive; Silicon gives brighter, edgier distortion. Flexi-Switch lets you do latching or momentary operation—tap for on/off, hold for as long as you want. Relay-based true bypass needs power to pass signal.Three knobs total: More for gain, Tone to shape highs, Level for unity to double output. Runs clean on 9V but handles up to 18V fine.
