Description

Brand new, not unpackaged or assembled. The JHS Notaklon is a solderless, do-it-yourself (DIY) overdrive pedal kit designed to replicate the tone and function of the rare and "mythical" Klon Centaur overdrive pedal. Marketed with an "IKEA-inspired" aesthetic and simple assembly instructions, the pedal is designed to be easily built by anyone without soldering experience. Key Features and DescriptionType of Effect: Transparent Overdrive/Clean Boost.Design Philosophy: It aims to provide a faithful recreation of the classic Klon circuit at a fraction of the price of an original Klon. The kit format allows users to have the experience of building their own pedal.Controls: It features simple, intuitive controls for Gain, Treble, and Output (Volume).Shamrock Mod Switch: A mini-switch is included, which adds approximately +4dB of gain, increases the mid-range frequencies, and adds an additional stage of hard-edge clipping for a versatile tonal range.Power: It requires a standard 9V DC negative-center power supply and internally converts the 9V to 18V for increased headroom. It does not use batteries.Assembly: The kit is solderless, featuring a ribbon connecting the PCB board, making it easy to assemble in minutes."Goop": The kit even includes a small amount of "goop" (an opaque epoxy-like substance) so builders can, if they choose, cover the "magical" diodes and circuit components, mimicking the original Klon's famously concealed internals. The Notaklon is praised for its ability to enhance a guitar's natural tone while maintaining clarity and definition, working well with both single-coil and humbucker pickups.
