🎸 Maxon OD808 Overdrive Pedal🎸Fully working in excellent hardly used condition🎸Includes box but no PSUUnlock thick, crunchy overdriveAuthentic JRC4558 op-amp design with buffered bypass switchingMild compression and slight low-end cut help tighten your soundLightweight, robust metal chassis offers tour-grade reliabilityThe Maxon OD808 Overdrive Pedal is a totally authentic reissue of one of the most beloved overdrives of all time. No corners have been cut with this faithful reproduction of the first TS-style overdrive from 1979 and you can now access the tone that Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, and Joe Satriani fell in love with.Pedal purists will be pleased to see the revered JRC4558 op-amp chip included in the design as many believe this holds the key to the rich tone and creamy overdrive this pedal provides on tap. The authenticity also extends to switching as the buffered bypass design of the original is preferred here which helps maintain signal integrity, especially useful for bigger pedalboards. While the shade of green may be more closely associated with another similar overdrive pedal, there?ll only ever be one original.Full DescriptionTime to make those tubes screamThe comprehensive green overdrive pedal? With history on its side, the Maxon OD808 Overdrive Pedal stakes a big claim for being one of the best overdrive pedals ever invented. The first iteration of the TS808 was a Maxon OD808 and despite being more commonly associated with other brands, the OD-808 has all the vintage feel and character associated with the highly sought-after originals. The secret behind this legendary tone lies in the design which was particularly radical for the late 70s; rather than having separate amplifier and clipping stages like most overdrive pedals, the OD808 distorts the signal in the amplifier stage yielding a smoother, milder, more natural-sounding distortion than a separate clipping stage. This is what makes the op-amp so important and why the JRC4558 is held in such high regard. The only noticeable change between earlier 808s (of both brands) is this reissue Maxon OD808 has a lower noise floor so performance is audibly quieter despite still utilising the same buffered bypass approach as the originals.Older 808s are susceptible to microphonic noise due to static electricity build-up on the chassis. To rectify this issue, Maxon reversed the positions of the output resistors on the reissue OD808 and their values increased in order to reduce noise levels. This change to the circuitry has no audible effect on the outputted tone, except reducing the noise levels. All the articulate definition and lasting sustain remains, just with less unwanted noise.SpecificationsGeneralInput Impedance: 500K OhmsInput Jack: 1/4 Inch Standard Phone JackOutput Impedance: 10K OhmsOutput Jack: 1/4 Inch Standard Phone JackOutput: 1Controls: Drive, Tone, BalanceSwitch: Normal/EffectNoise (IHF-A): -110 dBuMax Amplitude: 35 dBuAccessories:1 x 9V Manganese Dry Cell Battery (S-006P)User's GuideWarranty CardNon-Skid PadPower SpecsPower Supply: 9V Manganese Dry Cell Battery (S-006P) or Special AC AdaptorPower Voltage: DC9 V (Battery) / DC10 V (AC-Adaptor)Current Consumption: 5 mA (9V) / 6 mA (10 V)AC Adaptor: AC210N (Option)Input: AC120VOutput: DC9V/200 mA Center - / Sleeve +)DimensionsWidth: 70mmDepth: 112mmHeight: 55mmWeight: 260g (Approx.)Please Note: Pedal does not come with an AC adaptor
