The JHS Twin Twelve V2 is an overdrive pedal designed to replicate the tone of the rare 1963 Silvertone Model 1484 guitar amplifier, known for its distinctive sound popularized by artists like Jack White, Beck, Coldplay, and Vampire Weekend. It features meticulously hand-tuned discrete transistor stages that emulate the tube saturation of the original amp, providing a warm, amp-like feel. A charge pump converts standard 9-volt power to 18 volts, enhancing punch, dynamic range, and overall responsiveness. The pedal offers a toggle switch for selecting between "Dirt" mode, which delivers a growling, medium to heavy overdrive, and "Clean" mode, which bypasses the drive control to function as a high-headroom clean boost with tonal enhancement. It includes a 2-band EQ (Bass and Treble) that closely replicates the Baxandall tone circuit of the original amplifier, allowing for precise tonal shaping. The pedal is an all-analog stompbox with true bypass and requires a standard 9V DC negative power supply. The Twin Twelve V2 was manufactured from 2016 to 2019 and has since been discontinued by JHS Pedals.
