Description

This extremely clean Mu-Tron Octave Divider is a vintage pedal from the 1970’s. It works perfectly. Highly desirable and hard to find. The 70s Mu-Tron Octave Divider was a groundbreaking effects pedal that created thick, analog octave-down tones and a fuzzy octave-up tone using a built-in Green Ringer circuit. It was known for its dynamic sound, which preserved the original signal's harmonics, and its dual footswitch design allowed users to toggle between the octave-down effect, a "ringer" octave-up effect, or a combination of both, and also to kill the dry signal for a massive sub-octave sound. It included controls for mixing the effects with the original signal, a "tone" control for the sub-octave, and a "stabilize" switch for better tracking on single-note lines. Some notable artists famous for using it are Stevie Wonder, Jeff Beck, Larry Coryell, George Duke, George Benson, Lee Ritenour, Frank Zappa, Bootsy Collins, and many others.Core featuresOctave-down effect: It produces a strong, analog octave-down signal that is designed to maintain the dynamics and harmonic content of the original note.Octave-up effect: The integrated Green Ringer circuit, a highly regarded octave-up effect, was added to create a fuzzy, ringing octave-up sound.Stabilize switch: This feature helps the pedal track monophonic (single-note) signals more reliably.Bass Only switch: This footswitch kills the original signal, leaving only the octave-down effect for a massive, pure sub-octave sound.Tone color control: A dedicated control allows players to adjust the tone of the sub-octave signal. Other characteristicsAnalog circuit: It uses a classic analog circuit, creating a warm and organic sound.Dual footswitches: The dual-footswitch design is a hallmark, giving the user control over the effect's status and the "Bass Only" mode.Versatility: It was designed for a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, and keyboards.High value: Due to its signature sound and rarity, original 70s models are highly sought after and expensive on the vintage market. If you are a guitarist, bassist or keyboardist or just collect great vintage gear, you NEED this pedal in your collection.
