This is the fabulous build-it-yourself Notaklon from JHS where it's not just a Klon clone (with an additional mod that Josh calls the Shamrock mode) but it's a kit to build yourself! I have never removed anything from this box except to take these photos. Here's info from JHS:A SOLDERLESS DIY KIT!Presenting the JHS NOTAKLÖN DIY Overdrive kit, which utilizes the unique “Shamrock” modification that JHS performed on the *Klon KTR for several years. With easy-to-understand instructions (no soldering required), this kit is for anyone who wants a particularly mythical overdrive and the experience of easily building their own pedal. They've even included "goop" so that you can conceal the "magical" diodes. It’s NOTAKLÖN 'til you build it. CONTROLSOutput – Controls the overall volume of the pedal. Left is less, right is more.Treble – Controls the amount of treble boost or cut. Noon is neutral.Gain – Controls the amount of overdrive. Fully left is clean, which gives the ability to add up to +16dB of clean boost in conjunction with the output. Fully right is max overdrive. As the control is turned clockwise, there is an increase in the mid-frequency range.Shamrock Mod Switch – Increases the overall gain +4dB for unmatched boost abilities with an increase in mid frequencies and an additional stage of hard-edge clipping.JACKSInput - 1/4” jack on the top right side of the pedal.Output - 1/4” jack on the top left side of the pedal. POWER – Requires 9V DC negative center power and consumes 30mA. Do not use more than 9V DC as the pedal internally converts 9V to 18V. If you do, you will void your warranty. This pedal measures 4.7" X 3.7" X 1.66”___________________________________________________________________________________________________My Story (If you're not interested, or have heard this already and are just looking for the sale deets - just scroll back up. Sure. No worries. It's just my fairly traumatic recent personal life. No reason for you to read all this, you heartless puppy kickers...)In 2024 I was intent on upgrading my whole pedalboard. And because I have ADHD issues and like to chase the Dopamine rush, I bought a crapload of new pedals, many of which I have never even tried since then. I've never had this one out of the box even once. Now, for anyone that wants to know why I'm selling it and most of the other pedals that I bought fairly recently- the following tome is MY story. Feel free to take it all in or ignore it all.I've been playing guitar since I was 12, in and out of so many local bands (I'm sure like many of you) I can't count them all. I have taught neighborhood kids beginning guitar for many years. I was the main guitarist in both "The Big Stuff" and "Tendercrush", both bands that had enough regional success that we were near label contracts both times. (not nearly near enough though)I then had a nice professional career in the studio composing and performing music for TV, radio and film for about 20 years until 2006.I love everything about guitars and gear - I love the hunt for that special guitar/amp/stomp box/sound and have done a lot of it in the past ten years. Some would call me a ̶h̶o̶a̶r̶d̶e̶r̶ but I prefer "collector".Up until now.In an earlier draft of this listing, I really over-wrote all this stuff. But I lost the draft overnight to the whims of the Reverb gods, so I am going to make this version much less lengthy. Whoa, you may be thinking. "It was LONGER than THIS?!"Yes. Yes it was.Why I am selling off EVERYTHING.In the past couple years, my personal situation has shifted thusly:My self-owned career day business has taken a couple hard to foresee or prep for setbacks. I won't drag it out or take a political stand here. But I will summarize it like this with two words - "Government" + "Contracts". Again, not going to dwell on details but I am taking home 50% less than I was in 2024. I mean...that's quick. And that's a deep pocket hit.Not looking for pity or even empathy, I accept the situation and it's my job to drive sales and get new projects and clients. But as I mentioned, these hits came out nowhere, and have been hard to rebound from so far. Lots of you probably can understand that situation, especially with the Government shut down about to take its part in our financial world.A few months ago, my CPA firm revealed to me that I owe $20,400 in back taxes from 2023's taxes due to various errors (none on their part, naturally) and so, I am now in debt to the IRS and trying to get out of it.This next one is a bit difficult to be jokey about. Between 2018 and 2023 I underwent THREE spinal surgeries. I have titanium in my lower back that has been installed and then relocated three times now. That has had a bit of an impact on my day-to-day mobility. And pain level. In 2023, I decided to finally spend the money to get one of my front teeth fixed with an implant. I borrowed from my home equity credit and took out the $18,500 that was needed (there were a few more things they took care of at the time, and no I do not have dental insurance) which was semi-manageable and I was tired of looking like a pumpkin head. This was a hardship, but one I had budgeted for.So then, last November, 2024 I had a Grand Mal brain seizure completely out of the blue. (well, unless you want to chalk it up to the stress from all this other stuff that was starting to present itself) that and the corresponding 911 ambulance ride added even more debt.Well, whatever lesson I was supposed to have learned by that first seizure - apparently I didn't learn it. (unless it was - "Don't have seizures!") Between last November and this past Monday, I have had FOUR more Grand Mal Brain Seizures, and TWO CTI Mini Strokes, as well as four more ambulance rides to the ER. I understand that it sounds like I'm laying it on thick, but I will swear on my life that this is exactly what I've been going through with NO embellishment. This is where I'll stop throwing dollar amounts out there. I think you've all been part of the world long enough to know how much money that all represents. So if I'm not angling for pity sales, why am I telling you all this, and what does it mean to you? Well first up:I am selling off as much of my collection as I can bear right now. There are some things which are unique, some things which are rare, and some things that are just great examples of gear you might be looking for in excellent shape.I'm motivated to sell. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not dying (yet). I can handle letting some of these things sit until they get what $$ is right for them. But on the other hand, I'm trying to start lower than any other similar stuff on Reverb. And if you make an offer, I will legit consider it.One reason I'm not going to be overly focused on "every penny possible" is because (and I'm declaring it right here and now) of my physical issues. Due to my back, as well as the fact that I cannot drive (in PA, can't drive until 6 months after your last seizure), I'll be needing some time to get larger items packed and shipped. In the case of a stomp box, sure, not so much. They will be boxed and shipped the next day. But for things like a two part amp stack - it may take me a few more days to find the right packaging, and to get it picked up etc. That's kind of it, really. Other than to say that I've got 22-24 guitars that are also going up for sale, 3 or four amps, and approximately 40 high-end, effects stomp boxes. I will be putting them all up ASAP.So have at it, and if you have any questions - please ask away.I appreciate it,- Scot
