Joyo Tremolo with Added Expression Control, Top Jacks, etc.Adding expression control to a pedal is a fun mod, isn't too involved, and works beautifully. I needed a tremolo to hold me over for a bit and the Joyo is very highly regarded as having superb sound quality, all analog, and affordable. I can confirm this. The sound quality is excellent and the waveform sits very nicely in a mix, with good feel. The side jacks were immediately replaced with top jacks, then an expression jack installed for external control of the RATE (the original RATE pot still functions as normal when no TRS cable is inserted). I built a dual preset EXP pedal for switching between 2 different rate settings, dictated by where you set the two knobs; the speed range is identical to the stock pedal... super slow to super fast. The pulsing LED on the pedal will reflect the selected speed. The original Joyo rate pot is a 1M Ohm, so (2) 1M Alpha pots and a top-quality "soft-click" footswitch were used in the build. Functionality is perfect and artifact-free.A standard rocker Exp pedal would also work but must have a 1M pot, and possibly the tip & ring wires swapped (I followed the exact Joyo pot lug layout left to right, sending the wiper to the ring). The 9V battery lead was removed since there is no room for one with the exp jack in-place. Comes with the original box, saucer knobs, the 2 black stock knobs, unused side-jack nuts, manual, and a brand new 1ft TRS cable. Yes, the weird crippled dog graphic was sanded off and the aluminum polished; sorry, not sorry :-)
