The cataPulp distortion pedal is Wampler's take on replicating several of the most famous Orange amplifier tones, in particular the Rockerverb 50 MKII. This pedal provides 3-band equalization with treble, mid-range and bass controls in addition to volume and gain controls. The treble, mid-range and bass controls are active, allowing the frequencies to be reduced or boosted around plus or minus 15db. This allows for greater tone control, for example when adjusting the EQ for humbucker vs. single-coil pickups. The circuit is JFET-based so it saturates like a tube amp.The input jacks are by Neutrik and top mounted, and it has a soft click true bypass electrical relay switch. This pedal was manufactured in 2017, so the switch is connected to the circuit board via a switch connector. Earlier cataPulps had a hardwired switch. The switch connector makes repair much easier in the event the switch needs to be replaced. The interplay of the volume and gain controls allow for a distortion range from light country crunch to screaming demon. In addition to the default 9 volts, you can run this pedal at 12 or 18 volts for more clean headroom. Or for even more distortion and liquid sustain, this pedal stacks really well with other overdrives. The pedal is in excellent operating condition. The upper casing is in excellent condition with a few very minor nicks and scratches. The bottom plate has additional minor scratches along with those that appear in the photo, which is why I've listed this as in very good condition. Original Wampler Tone Chaser 9v battery included, still plastic wrapped with full charge. A Wampler carry bag is included.
