Notably distinct from later models Boss developed such ass the CS-2 and CS-3.The CS-1 is a quirky but awesome pedal. It excels at absolutely smashing your guitar signal and works particularly well with single coil pickups as a compressor.What makes the unit so special is the normal/treble switch which acts much like a treble booster. This is an incredible sound for lead guitarists looking to goose their tube amp or favorite drive/fuzz for vintage inspired sound.Also notable is that this pedal works VERY well for 12-string electric players looking for that Byrds sound-- lots of compression + treble boost!
