Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus 18V Guitar Pedal (USED) GREAT CONDITIONPhotos of Actual Item: (See for Condition)Auction Includes:Pedal ONLYDescription:The BEST CHORUS EVER MADE. LUSH!!!! 18V make all the difference in the world.Danelectro pedals often hold special places in players' hearts, much of the time for their great sound at such musician-friendly prices. The Danelectro Cool Cat offers a vintage chorus that can even simulate a rotating speaker when its speed knob is pushed to the max. This pedal provides a lush, thick stereo chorus with only two easy-to-use controls. In the mid 1990s, the Evets Corporation relaunched the Danelectro brand, but instead of offering quirky guitar designs from the '50s and '60s, the initial return of Danelectro introduced a line of new effect pedals to the 1996 NAMM show. The lineup included a chorus, an overdrive, a distortion, a delay, and pedalboard-friendly stage tuner. These retro-themed pedals were housed in heavy-duty die-cast enclosures, and they featured FET switching. They were sold at reasonably accessible prices, but they were quality pedals. Because of that, these somewhat quirky pedals are responsible for the classic sounds heard on countless '90s recordings. The "Cool Cat" Chorus was part of the original Danelectro '90s pedal lineup. It was first offered as an 18V, but in 1997, the Cool Cat was revamped to use a standard 9V adapter. While that made the Cool Cat more pedalboard friendly, the earlier 18V design produces a richer, more "syrupy" chorus effect. Soundwise, this pedal competes with highly-collectible analog chorus pedals of the '80s, but it's a more reliable and substantial unit. This circa-1996 Danelectro Cool Cat is a great example of the earlier 18V design. "Speed" and "Chill" controls provide plenty of a flexibility to dial in the right sound, and a second output jack lets you explore a true stereo effect. This one is in nice condition all around with a few scuffs here and there, but nothing severe. It functions 100% as it should, and the protective plastic is still in place on both battery clips. This is a fantastic chorus pedal that is hard to beat.
