The Electro-Harmonix Silencer is a sophisticated noise gate designed to tame unwanted hum and buzz, whether from a single pedal or your entire effects loop. Its intuitive three-control layout makes it easy to fine-tune for your guitar and playing style: Threshold sets the level needed to open the gate, Reduction adjusts how much the signal is lowered (from -70dB to +4dB), and Release controls how long the gate stays open after the signal falls below the threshold, with a wide range from 8ms to 4 seconds. This flexibility allows you to dial in anything from tight, fast gating to smooth, natural decay.
Equipped with ¼-inch Input, Output, Send, and Return jacks, the Silencer works equally well inline or within an effects loop. A rugged footswitch selects engaged or bypass mode, with buffered bypass ensuring your effects loop stays active even when the gate is off. Compact and built to last, it runs on a standard power supply or a 9V battery, making it a versatile, road-ready solution for players who demand clarity and control in their rig.
