Judging from the pot dates, this is an early model, manufactured around 1969, but it still packs a punch. It features four controls: VOLUME, SUSTAIN, TONE, and BLEND (adjusts the amount of fuzz). Surprisingly, Fender already had dual-switch technology in the 1960s, featuring an ON/OFF switch and a TONE BOOST switch (which increases volume and adds intense treble). Just flip it on and you'll find a heavy, brutal octave fuzz sound that completely destroys the image of Fender. Its raw, wailing sound, unmatched by any reproduction, is truly breathtaking. Due to its relatively long production period, many examples, each using different parts, are unique to this model.
