My MI Audio Crunch Box has never failed me & this baby is a pretty legendary distortion pedal out of Australia. It’s basically MI Audio’s take on the “hot-rodded Marshall in a box” idea — thick, saturated gain but still very articulate.Here are the key points about it:Tone & Character:Think JCM800/JCM900 style crunch → big mids, tight low end, cutting highs.More compressed and aggressive than an overdrive — closer to a full-on amp distortion.Good for classic rock → 80s hard rock → modern hard rock tones.Controls:Gain – goes from crunch to heavy saturation.Tone – a wide sweep, but it’s voiced to keep the mids strong.Volume – lots of output, can push an amp’s front end hard.
