Description

1999 Zvex Fuzz Factory - Hand Painted - Veroboard - Japanese Kanji version - Very Rare! * please note we do not use the automatic price drop feature or participate in Reverb sales. We try and price things reasonably from the start. Painted by Myrold. Years of natural relic, so the paint is what it is (and many of these old ones are like this now) - I believe this was number 7 of 11. The "7" can still be seen, but the other number can't. Some of the text can still be made out slightly - a real blacklight might help. Veroboard. I think this might be the second generation of transistors after the Spam Cans (as with all the old Zvex transistors, the part number is scraped off so the actual transistor is unknown) Works fine. Sounds huge. Fuzzier than the modern Vexter Fuzz Factories. A little bit more wild and wooly. The bass sound has more separation and doesn't sound as compressed as it does on newer ones. Your mileage may vary, but this is a great sounding pedal either way. Front 9v plug may or may not be original. I once asked Zach about it and he said "yeah, I think we did a few like that once." Very helpful. As this is a "Kanji" version it may have been a special run for their distributor in Japan (which is where I bought it) - they did later Kanji runs in 2001 and 2007 as far as I've seen, but this is the only one I've seen from the veroboard era. Here's your chance to own a collectible and rare hand painted Zvex fuzz factory from the veroboard era. Don't let it slip away! Ships via Japan Post EMS (7-12 days to most countries) w/ tracking and insurance. Please note that due to current conditions we cannot ship to some countries. If your country is not listed, please ask us for availability.---- PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:* We inspect and test all instruments and note any and all issues with instruments that we sell, and guarantee the functionality of the instrument we are selling unless instrument is listed as a "for parts/not working" instrument.* Items are shipped via Japan Post EMS unless otherwise stated in the description. Please be aware of any import duties your country/region might have or that Reverb is applying to the cost due to Tax/VAT collections. Declared value must match the final sale price for insurance purposes in shipping. If you don't see your country listed in our shipping locations, please ask us for a shipping quotes.* We do not use the automatic price drop feature or the sale feature on Reverb. We feel that the automatic price drop feature has created a market distortion with some sellers listing for crazy initial prices looking for "fish" and then wild prices drops (we've seen up to 200%) bringing items down to relatively normal values. Also we've noticed certain items being placed in several carts while buyers wait for a hopeful price drop. Overall we feel that this doesn't create a good experience for the sellers or buyers. We try to price our items reasonably the first time out, and we are usually open to reasonable offers.* If you have any questions, please contact us! We love to talk about musical instruments, and we love to find great vintage Japanese guitars and gear for people!Thank you for looking, please see our other listings for more interesting and unique instruments from Japan!
