This can be used equally well in both in the studio for recording, or on stage for live performances -- but it certainly shines on stage, as you can get glorious studio-quality stereo tape echo effects through a simple and easily portable effect pedal. Works great for guitar, bass, or keyboards -- and is especially convenient if you are going direct to a stereo PA, as you can get that breathtaking depth that only a stereo effect can give you, and the sound quality of these Strymon tape echo units are lush and inspiring. The unit iis also built to a very tough standard, and the clickless footswitches are a big improvement, making active / bypass switching more bullet proof.
