Interesting and rare collectible pedal useful on guitar or bass. Functions as it should. 45 years old and in great shape. Pedal only. 9v power. This era Boss pedal has a batch number ink stamped inside the battery compartment. Boss/Roland support replied that this unit from batch #8600 dates to 09/1979. Beyond that from what I understand the other features of the pedal fit one from that era. Results from serial (batch) number (8600) search:SP-1 found in database. Start of production: 1976 ,End of production:1981Serial number/batch number is in 1977 until mid 1981 format (only 4 digits long)First few digits equates to-86 months after July 1972.- - 1979 is within the manufacture dates (1976 to 1981)
