Faux Tape Echo is Wampler's take on what a modern delay should be. It's based on a love of classic analog echo sounds and an appreciation for the joys of modern technology. Faux is a digital device, but it's designed to mimic the characteristics of an analog delay as closely as possible, without losing the stability and versatility that digital provides.In fact, the pedal uses a completely analog signal processing path. The digital part in Faux is just a chip that is used as a memory device. As a result, you can use this delay both for crystal clear slapbacks and guitar polyrhythms in modern indie music, and for classic space solos with a vintage sound in the style of David Gilmour.
