This Menatone Top Boost in a Can is in perfect working order and in mint condition complete with everything that came with it when purchased new by me directly from Menatone. This is the current-production compact 7-knob version. It's extremely similar to the old 8-knob version I had roughly 20 years ago, but this version eliminates the "Mid" control as the brilliant channel of an AC30 Top Boost never had a middle control and this pedal utilizes the entire brilliant channel preamp circuit in its design. I am an absolute Vox obsessive to the point that it annoys my bandmates, family, friends, etc. This literally is the Top Boost circuit in a box. It's such a powerful tool to add that magically unique tonal character to an amp that could never get there otherwise. It's also an absolutely amazing overdrive pedal in its own right. Treat the Level control as a Master Volume and the Gain control as the Brilliant Channel volume and you can materialize that extremely elusive glassy jar-of-nails brilliance while using the Cut control to ensure it stays beautiful and not harsh. When applied as a more standard overdrive, I would characterize it in the Bluesbreaker camp as it is more transparent in EQ and really adds harmonic complexity while avoiding the typical mid-centric tendencies of tonally-colored overdrives. I personally would take this over a KOT any day, it's incredible and literally amp-like. I don't see any demos of the current version, so I've linked a demo of the older 8-knob version for reference. You can also find audio samples of the current-production version on the Menatone website. Enjoy! This pedal will be packed with extreme care to survive even the most aggressive carriers. Please contact me regarding shipping outside of the U.S. and Canada.I only use Reverb's shipping estimator for quotes.
