I've used this pedal over the years with my bands, and music production. Unfortunately I have to let it go, it's in excellent condition, which you can see for yourself. Hit me up if you have an offer. The Happiness is based on the filter section of the 1970s Steiner-Parker Synthacon (and currently revived in the Arturia MiniBrute), built with lots of headroom and a wide frequency range that can be used on guitar, bass, or keys. It's an analog multi-mode filter, HP, LP, and BP are selected by the State switch in the center of the pedal, and it's simplest function is as an autowah. The onboard LFO is customizable with the Shape control, and selecting a comfortable center frequency and firing up the LFO depth, there are already a ton of usable sounds. Before I get into the broader applications-- if you're just going plug-and-play with this device, keeping to what's on the surface-- my favorite sound is engaging the Scramble switch, which jumbles the internal LFO to create a random Sample & Hold style filter effect. I've always been a big fan of that sound, especially with some decent resonance added in.As an addition to a pedalboard, there are expression pedal inputs for both the filter cutoff and the LFO, so with external pedals the Happiness can be used as a wah or manual filter without relying on the onboard oscillator at all, and the LFO can be ramped from slow to fast when in use.Based on synth filters, the Happiness also has CV connectivity. The filter cutoff can be CV controlled and the internal LFO can be used as a CV output to feed other devices... and if you really want to get experimental, you can overtake the Scramble signal and warp the internal LFO independently with the Scramble CV input. As an independent filter, this pedal goes about as deep as any filter section in a vintage synth and then quite a bit further. It can warp pretty much anything you can feed it, the controls go as far as you can imagine (yes: the resonance will go into self-oscillation if you want), and it sounds great wherever you apply it.
