MXR MX-104 Distortion+ block (mid 70's) rare vintage pedal w/box and bookletIn Very Good to Excellent condition with some surface imperfections. In 100 % complete working order and sounds great.I had a Vintage electronics Technician dis-assemble, inspect and clean this unit.ITS A RARE FIND - One of the original second production runs of the MXR Distortion+ pedal with the LM741 op amp chip and twin matching 1N270 germanium diodes. This was the first model distortion pedal ever made by any company. It was used by countless famous rockers to create a new rock sound and inspired a new generation of pedals by numerous brands (DOD250, Ross, JHS, etc) copying the same circuitry.According to an interview with MXR founder Keith Barr in Guitar World magazine, he reported that some of these pedals were silkscreened by Barr himself, which is interesting but not unusual.MXR used pots with EIA date codes on them. They usually start with 137 which is the manufacturer (137 = CTS), then the next digits are the year and week. For example, 137 7723 would be a CTS pot, made in the 23rd week of 1977.Pickup near Columbia SC. or I will ship
