Description

Mimiq guitar doubler-tripler in the box, with sticker and cable. I like Mimiq, but it's not quite what I want. One of the things I love is hair metal, and so with that you get a lot of detune, doubling or triple-tracking, and harmonizing. Maybe all together, maybe not. This does some of that recipe, it feels like a short delay and just a dash of pitch warble or something. Mimiq does not sound like a tape delay and it also doesn't sound like a harmonizer. It doesn't "split" long enough to do double-tracking, but it's a real nice thickener that isn't a chorus. Back when I was using the Keeley 30ms, the sounds alternated for me between a bit too classic and a bit too bright. Mimiq cures both of those problems, it sounds modern and unchorusy but you don't get the in-your-face detune or doubling that a modulated delay with high mix can do. That said, you do have an octaver-style dry and wet mix, with three options for stereo field, and a tightness knob. I'd say, spend some time with the dry-wet blend; there is a lot of just right mojo in those knobs, not where you might expect to find it. I thought dry full up with wet dialed in was the way to go and I wound up dialing the dry back and different amounts of wet, some more, some less. If you find something solid gold, set and forget.
