Up for sale, a 1975 Musitronics Mu-Tron Phasor in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Musitronics (Mu-Tron) was founded by Mike Beigel and Aaron Newman, with the goal of providing studio-grade effects derived from synthesizer components. An iconic sound of the ‘70s, the glassy swirls of the Mu-Tron Phasor can be heard on scores of recordings throughout the decade. This particular Phasor, the original iteration, was crafted in the first year of official production, featuring streamlined controls and black knobs.
The core of the Phasor is an operational transconductance amplifier (OTA), and this pioneering design enabled an expanded dynamic range for complex, clean phasing never truly achieved via the FET circuits favored at the time. Controls include Depth (L/M/H) and Speed knobs, and the CTS pot dates to the 8th week of 1975.
