About the Unicorn Account

Description

I bought this in June 2022. Used in a smoke free studio.Rubber feet, stickers, and original packaging are not included. Batches are produced periodically in quantities of about 50 pedals at a time and usually sell out quickly. This pedal includes the optional the volume mod (the volume of the effected signal is adjustable via an external control). From the TKOG website:The Mini Glitch is a micro-sampler effects pedal designed and produced by us at TKOG. Originally inspired by the desire to reproduce the randomness of a Max/MSP “stutter” effect, the sample size can be randomized in any of the three trigger modes, but fixed sample sizes up to 1 second are selectable too. The latest version of the pedal also offers a way to switch between clickless and clicky operation, so it can fit equally well into ambient or aggressive textures. The pedal also features a flat frequency response and good headroom, so it should work well with any signal sources, from guitars to synths to vocals.ModesIt has three modes, each of which uses a different mechanism to trigger glitches. The Random (RND) mode starts and stops glitching at random – this mode replicates the Max/MSP patch on which the pedal is based. The Switched mode (SW) starts glitching when the footswitch is depressed; it can be set for either momentary or latching functionality. The Threshold (TRSH) mode starts a new glitch each time it receives an input signal over a set threshold. All three modes offer the option to randomize the length of the glitching sample, or to set it to a fixed length (up to 1 second).Dry-PathThe pedal also offers control over the analog dry path. With the dry gate set to “MUTE”, the dry signal will be silenced when glitching is active – mirroring the original Max/MSP patch and sounding similar to a broken CD-player. Alternatively, the gate can be set to pass regardless of glitch activity, which allows one to layer the dry signal with the effect.ControlsThe “Sample Size” knob controls the length of the glitch in all three modes, but also offers a unique secondary function in each mode. In Random mode, it adjusts how frequently new random values are generated, thus determining how often glitching starts and stops (at very low settings, glitching will occur infrequently, but may persist long time when it does). In Switched mode, it adjusts the maximum sample length when the knob is set to the “rnd” position (the maximum random sample length is fixed in the other two modes). In Threshold mode, it adjusts the threshold level. The Mini Glitch can’t save presets, so the secondary function resets to its default setting each time the mode is changed or the pedal is powered off.The volume of the effected signal is adjustable via an external trim pot mod. The dry signal is kept at unity gain (except when it is muted, of course).Since September 2020, all Mini Glitch pedals have included an internal jumper to enable/disable clicks on loop repeats and buffer overwrites.Jacks/PowerThe Mini Glitch features top-mount audio and power jacks. It requires a +9V DC power from a standard 2.1mm center-negative plug (Boss-style). Current draw is ~60mA. Power supply not included.
