No need for mods or tweaks or other boutiquery, this mass produced wonder sounds good as it is. How nature intended. This is the pedal that cemented the DS-1 place in the history books as a machine of tasteful, if raucous tone, before they changed the circuit and left newcomers to the pedal scratching their heads as to what all the fuss is about. For skeptics, this pedal does sound different to the current (post 1994) pedal, and whether different equals better is for you to decide. This unit is fully functional and working exactly as it should. No box or papers, but oooh, the stories it could tell.
