About the Unicorn Account

Description

This pedal lived on my desktop. I used it for home recording 99% of the time and gigged with it 2-3 times. Obviously this thing has next to zero bells and whistles (could've given us some reverb at least...). It's only goal in life is to produce a pure, beautiful, full-bodied clean tone. And it does that. It does it well. It is a joy to play with headphones, sounds great in the daw and through a nice powered speaker. (just make sure the mono/stereo/sum switch is in the right position!)If you get off on the clarity, punchiness and body of a really good raw guitar tone, then this pedal is for you.I will say that its more of a modern clean tone. Even though the intent is to model vintage amps, it still comes across cleaner and more pure than the amps its trying to emulate. Taste-wise I still prefer the real thing but I would say this is an equally high-quality sound. As mentioned, I really wish they would've thrown in a reverb. I don't always want to set up my pedalboard to play at home. There is the "Room" setting which is cool but it doesn't really do the job of wetting the tone. Also it translates better in headphones/daw than through a speaker.I want to keep this pedal but in my mind I need to sell some stuff to justify getting some other stuff. For the gigs I'm doing, an amp is still more practical and I have a really great amp. So this is going on the strike list. If you want a high-end clean tone for home recording or play through PAs a lot, then this is a really nice option.Comes with original box and power supply.
