Description

Here is a vintage MXR Phase 90 from either 1974 or 1975. The pot dates to 1974 but the pedal doesn't have a Bud Box bottom plate. I actually think this is a Bud Box 1974 MXR Phase 90 pedal with a non-original bottom plate from a 1975 Phase 90 since the coloring of the bottom plate is a slightly different shade of orange than the rest of the pedal. However, it is possible that it's a transition model between the early Bud Box version and the 1975 traditional box version. Either way, this pedal has that "it" factor. It's so lush and warm and has the special something that the reissues just can't capture. This pedal nails everything from vintage David Gilmour sound to the Eddie Van Halen solos on Van Halen 1. I'm pricing this pedal like it's not the more desirable Bud Box version, but the buyer may be getting a Bud Box version at a cheaper price. The pedal is missing one vintage screw to hold the bottom plate. I could have replaced it with a shiny/pristine screw but felt it would lose some mojo, so I just used the 3 screws, which holds it together just fine.
