The Charlie Brown is definitely going after those lower-to-mid gain JTM45 or Plexi sounds. I think it would work well on anyone's board as a primary overdrive / always-on pedal, or as a second gain channel to your fender-style clean amp or main overdrive pedal. As you crank the mids, you get more clipping but you can cut peaky highs or boomy lows and get a really nice overdrive tone using a humbucker or tele bridge. This thing can even work well as a lead boost by cranking the mids and volume up. I’ve found this pedal works best with something driving it, so hit it with a clean boost or hot pickup to get it smoking. Pedal is in mint condition and functions just as it should.
