Here's a unique one for all of you collectors out there! Dig through the forums and you'll find stories about rare MXR pedals like this: one-off pieces, created for trade shows or lent out to musicians for testing. With a pot code dated 1982, this Phase 45 has a script-era circuit board containing "tropical fish" capacitors and carbon composite resistors only found in the very earliest "Bud Box" pedals. Housed in a lightweight aluminum enclosure (not Bud Industries), our best guess is that MXR wanted to explore going back to lighter weight enclosures in the early 80s and this is the pedal that sat on the board room table during that conversation. Again, this is our best guess because this pedal technically shouldn't exist. This pedal is 100% original with no mods, no weird holes drilled into the housing or anything like that. In excellent condition, there is some chipping on the back side near the screw holes. As with all of our pedals, this item has been meticulously cleaned and tested, assuring that this beast sounds just as good as it did nearly 50 years ago.
